Computer safety and security is important at all times, especially when using the computer online. This class will be an open discussion about many of the key factors involved in keeping you and your computer information safe from unwanted visibility.
The purpose of this class is to provide you with information about several of the main areas of vulnerability when using the internet and a computer, and to give you strategies and tools that will minimize your risks and increase your enjoyment of the computer and the internet.
Some of the topics we will discuss include:
• Email and attachments
• Shopping online and using credit cards
• Passwords
• Antivirus software
• Scams and other threats
The online world can be a wonderful place to work, play and explore when you take a few simple steps to keep your computer and the information on it safe and secure.
There will be time to ask questions and get the answers you need during this class.
